Today, we made pumpkin rattles...

Two pinch pots sealed together...

With some tiny clay balls trapped inside, wrapped in paper...

Hopefully, the paper will burn off...

And, will keep the rattle pieces loose, so they don't stick...

Discussion Group and Evening Eats

Our Santa Cruz Creativity Discussion Group was supposed to meet at the Red Apple Cafe for breakfast on Saturday morning. I even picked out the location this time. Turns out, there are two Red Apple Cafes. Guess who went to the wrong one? After a short drive, thankfully, I finally ended up eating breakfast with my patient friends. Later on in the day, I celebrated my birthday, and Grant's birthday with dinner in Palo Alto at Joya. It's always a treat to meet for our annual Wright/Hansen Birthday Dinner. The tapas were tasty, and we barely saved room for the churros dipped in chocolate… I'm so thankful for good friends, who help me through the tough times, and fill my life with joy.

The dots in the center will be chartreuse...

And, they'll have underglaze pencil work after the next firing...
