Sprigs and Reverse Sprigs

Melting gigantic raw clay head...

Stacked up the alphabet stamps...

A modern day marvel...

Odds and ends from days gone by...

The real boom box has been replaced with a fake one...

Starting to make some simple sprigs...

Unpacked the tiles from Chris, and some pot stands...

Hoping to fire these, and then make reverse molds of them...

These will dry quickly...

Loving the snail shell and the sunflower...

Making more reverse molds...

Studio Purge

Hoping to get rid of the fan and the heater...
Cleaned off the work areas...
This table will house the air conditioner unit...
The rolling table got a little spruce...
The drying shelves are all clean...
These two guys are amazed at how much stuff we're tossing out...
Still need to consolidate some wall pieces...
The studio mascot is now ready to melt outside...
I hadn't seen the back of his head in years...

Giant Cups or Smallish Vases

These are for the future class Dia de los Muertos altar...

Started out with some bases, and by firming up the cones...

Beefed up the bases to support the cones...

The bases are supported by metal jar lids...

Adding some handles...

And, some skeletons...

Cup Week Slurps On

Rolling out the pieces...
Studio views...
Making some saucers, with ball jar inserts...
Trimming and texturing...
Placing some finger folds...
Adding useless decorative handles...
Taking them in the house to dry...

Cup Week Begins

The shed is really hot, so these slabs dried quickly...

Raking over the cups to make sure they seal...

Here are some lids to use as covers...

Applying texture to the last cup...

Once they've been smoothed they get carved pinstripes...

Knobs are added, and then the lid edges get dinged...

Made a base to have this bowl become a compote...

All done and drying in the kitchen...

The Last Bust

Having a smoke...

Built the bust part, and then let it firm up overnight...

Built a two pinch pot head...

Fleshing out the contours...

Putting in the eyes...

Fiddling with the hairdo...

Turns into a hairdon't mostly...

Everyone is hanging out in the kitchen...
