Glaze, Glaze, Glaze

Sanded and ready for the next firing...
Broke off a flower, but will replace it with a new one...
Just one more coat, then some sanding...
Giving me the stink eye for lounging...

Candleholders

Making flowers and leaves...
Putting together the pieces...
This one has a birdie...
This one is very simple...
Winston helped out, until the shed warmed up...

Mr. Turner & The Seaside

A giant blanket of fog bearing down on the coast highway...

The sky became very gray just south of Pigeon Point...

Stopped in to buy a tasty pie...

It was good to see Happy again...

Visited the show featuring many late Turner paintings...

Ran into this beauty by Juan Gris, one of my favorite painters...

Some amazing pre-Columbian ceramics, and African sculptures...

Stopped by Marlowe for some eats...

The absolute best hamburger I've eaten in ages...

Paid a visit to a butter driven bakery...

Very tasty, and the line was out the door...

Paid a visit to a fair trade market at the museum...

Odds & Ends

These have just been sanded...

These cheery little pots are on their way to the last firing...

These nests need white washing...

Watching the trips from the kitchen to the kiln...

These need clear glaze for their last firing...

Ah, three coats of clear glaze...

These need some white wash...

Simple little home signs...

In the process of white washing...

Using a little paper clay to smooth things out...

Loose white wash to "prime the canvas"...

And now, they're ready for color...

"Do You Know the Way to Monterey?"

Cooper Molera Adobe sitting room...

Love this color, and all of the old door knobs...

Iron shutter holders and lacy curtains...

Thomas O. Larkin quote...

Fragrant geraniums in the back garden...

The old and the new...

View from the back garden...

The shady side of the house...

Meditative bench resembling Brancusi's "Fish" sculpture...

Underneath the very full arbor...

Found some little treasures for the wall boxes...

New Studio Assistant

Breaking out a new knife...

Leaving good and bad marks in the clay...

Winston is the new quality control chairperson...

Following the pattern...

Rolling out decorative details...

Ready to dry...
