50 Years and Counting

Beautiful color combination...
A reference to the ill fated Fort Ross childhood vacation...

I met my sister and my brother in-law in Monterey for a fabulous birthday dinner. We walked through a local farmers market. I'm not a big fan of eating fruits and vegetables. I have to force myself to do it. But, I love looking at them. The colors, and the textures are amazing. Recently, I actually have become a berry fan. I happen to live in a town on the central coast of California, that is famous for it's berries. They taste great, smothered in cream... This market had the prettiest berries I've ever seen. Maybe I'll learn to eat more fruit during the next 50 years...

Jana bought Winston an outfit...
Too bad he wasn't welcome at the farmers market...
Thinking of making some homemade smudge sticks...
Luscious berries...
Mmmm... Watermelon agua fresca is my favorite...
Those carrots are lookers...
Liked his music...
George was a bit of a character...
So pretty...
Loving the wear and tear...
Fabulous barn in the middle of town...
Almond birthday cake...

Glue

Andy continues his love affair with watermelon...

My sister is the glue that holds our family together. Lately, it feels like holding us together is becoming more difficult, as geography often gets in the way. Or, we lead such busy lives that it makes scheduling difficult. We had a birthday picnic today. Thanks for organizing and arranging everything... It was a great way to think about all of the other birthdays that we've shared as a family.

We all got our wishes...

Gabe seemed very relaxed...

My dad opens a present...

My brother always gives such thoughtful birthday presents...

It was wonderful to spend time with Angela...

Andy made a lovely hat for Erin...

All Torn Up

Managed to finish washes on more plates...

My water is turned off, and my kitchen floor is missing...

But, I still need to white wash some work...

These are the bases to the studio awning bead poles...

With the floor missing, there's room to spread out...

No refrigerator means a lot more drying room...

One of the quality control officers is asleep on the job...

Telephones and Mass Destruction

My contractor's dog, Lucy...

Trying two different types of dials...

Mitered corners are the best, until they split...

I like the dial with the finger holes cut out...

This one just has the imprint of the finger holes...

They are larger scale, to account for shrinkage...

My former shower...

Not as much dry rot as I suspected...

Fare thee well toilet and tiling...

Making a Toy Phone Template

Building a three dimensional paper model...

Listening to the contractor demolish my disgusting bathroom...

Taping down the edges amidst the clamor...

Found a Sarah Block signature from her old drawing pad...

Eyeballing the model...

Dogs and owner are stunned by the noise...

Dials have ten finger holes, with one for the operator...

The dial fits on a raised surface with numbers...

And, now it's outside to cut out the clay slabs...
