School Lunch

Sandwiches, cookies, corn, peas, and a cutie...

Found this cafeteria tray at the flea market...

Looks like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, to me...

Inspiration board on the studio door...

Research...

It wouldn't be school lunch without a corndog...

Big Heads

Forming heads with the neck up...

They get flipped once the necks are firm...

Starting to shape the faces...

This guy wants to look like a rough wood carving...

Carving and pinching...

He is going to be placed on a carved wooden base...

Dental Trials.

This pedestal will be the base for a head sculpture...
Making some heads the Stan Welsh way, with necks up...
Once the neck is dry, the head gets flipped and completed...
Sculpted a small tooth, not unlike my tooth that recently cracked...
He has a bird on his other shoulder...
Percy has been irritated by the increased studio time...

Meditation Bowls & Bottle Stoppers

I've been storing up bottles for a while...
Now, it's time to construct some ceramic stoppers...
Percy was not keen on spending the day out in the shed...
I also made some textural shapes...
These are fitting into the abalone bowls in my yard...
Thinking about glazing the stoppers with monochromatic color...
That way, they'll make a unified gallery presentation...

Hey, Cupcake...

I only have a few left from my last batches...
I started a new bag, and wrapped up some spares...
My mom sent me home with some small towels...
I began to cut out the cupcake slabs...
Then, had some lunch...
The flanges require drying time to set up...
That way, the coils of icing aren't too heavy...
Took a second to clean up in between batches...
Finally finished, and then set them in the house to dry...
Tomorrow I'm working on bottle stoppers...

Discarded Gifts Become This Year's Treasures

It was freezing at the flea market...

These dudes added some color...

Loved this very deep button bin...

He was snuggling underneath an Oregon table cloth...

Loved this handsome doughboy...

Always a big fan of doll people...

Headed over to Pacific Grove...

Just a quick perusal of my favorite haunt...

Pretty, but also pretty pricey...

Noted a swell camera collection...

Took a look at some elegant telephones...

Gorgeous chalkware...

Impressed with the silhouettes...

Found some Mexican pottery...

This portrait had incredible brushwork...
