Near Miss

Starting out the drive home with some dinner...

A recent limbo game with a downed tree during my morning commute has caused me to be a bit skittish. So, I've switched routes for the time being. My new drive goes south, towards San Juan Bautista, and around the mountains. This takes me first through the berry fields of the Pajaro Valley, and then through the apple orchards. Thankfully, the recent rains have started to green up the landscape. I'm glad that I survived to see all of this and more...

The west side of Highway 101...
The eastern, cow-dotted hills...
Taco truck corral and mercado where 101 and 129 meet...
Apple orchards on Carlton Road...
The beginnings of berries...
Apples starting amidst the mustard flowers...

  1. Totally beautiful! When the mustard comes out--its time for a drive on the "Grand Loop"--through Pt. Reyes to Petaluma over to Sonoma and home the back way. Got any time off?

  2. I'd love to, but I think I'm maybe attending that birthday party on Saturday… Not sure yet.
