Grant Outdid Himself

The drive along the coast to San Francisco...

I met my friend, Grant, back many years ago, when we both worked at Macy's as display trimmers. Grant is now the head of Visual Merchandising for Macy's Union Square. After seeing some photos of this year's flower show, I knew that I wanted to view it in person. So, my sister drove over from the East Bay, and we met at Union Square. There was so much attention to detail. It made me feel very proud of Grant. On the drive home, I kept thinking back to the olden days, of painting letters in the shop, and of endless ironing. I learned to work hard at Macy's. We always moved fast, and got things done quickly and efficiently. And, ideas and creativity were important. Everyone contributed to complete large projects.

There were some really nice touches today... Congrats to everyone on a job well done.

The flower show theme was "Carnival"...
My sister posed with Laughing Sal...
Loved the ticket bustier, and the caramel corn corset...
All of the flowers were colorized with the awnings...
The main aisle looked like a carnival midway...
And, it smelled amazing on the first floor...
So much special detail...
Visited the top floor...
Ate some fried food, and had a ridonculous cheesecake...
Took another look around Union Square...
Then, headed back home...
