Tearin' it up with Vivaldi

One of the oldest buildings on the west coast...

I attended a chamber recital in the San Carlos Cathedral, in downtown Monterey, as part of the Carmel Bach Festival. The pieces that they played were from both Bach and Vivaldi. This was one of the best concerts I've ever attended. Ever. Every musician was well rehearsed. And, every musician was "feelin' it". It was more like a jam session than a classical recital. Their inspired performance amazed the appreciative audience, including a wise old service dog. This was an absolute treat...

Did a little antiquing before the concert...

Lots of pretty baking tools...

And, lots of portrait paintings...

A fabulous summer hat...

These dudes were laying on a glass shelf...

Lover's Point, less crowded towards twilight...

Originally designed as a mission...

The keys of the harpsichord were still warm...

Beautiful decorative painting at the altar...

Mary in the grotto at the side of the cathedral...
