Artwork Dinner

The cathedral across the street from the museum...
Liz Crain and I decided to go out to dinner once a month, in order to talk about art issues. It's great to sit down and discuss where I want my work to go, my thoughts and plans. Yesterday, we decided to head up to see the ceramic collection that was on display at the San Jose Museum of Art. It's always a treat to see work up close. It was a small, but powerful exhibit.

Movement and realism...
Fabulous fingers...
Loved the glazes on the base...
Another Richard Shaw figure...
Each component is so well rendered...
Thinking back to the class I took from Stan Welsh...
The gold makes this piece really pop...
I like how the faces are getting more abstract and rough...
The coloring on her face was fabulous...
Richard Shaw birthday cake with origami bill...
Great texture on this sculpture...
Love the black and white parts, melding into color...
A Viola Frey figure dominates the room...
A Clayton Bailey robot in the museum basement...
This little guy is pretty wonderful...
Loved this encaustic piece...
Shared some Vietnamese food after the visit...
